Kate Upton Wears Michigan-Made Swimsuit On Sports Illustrated Cover
MILFORD (WWJ) - A swimsuit hand-made in Michigan is gracing the pages of this month's issue of Sports Illustrated.
The red knit bikini made by Milford resident Magdelana Trever was worn by model and Michigan native Kate Upton in this month's issue.
"Kate Upton, the model, she had 10,000 swimsuits to pick from to put on and I just felt so honored that I even got in there, you know, from that many red suits and they'd pick one of mine, I never thought this would happen. I'm just so grateful it did," said Trever.
Trever says she expects it to be a game changer for her company, Maggie May Swimwear. Right now, she hand knits every piece herself.
"I hope that from this we'll be able to grow a lot and I'll be able to hire people so I can give jobs to others, that's going to be a whole thing on its own. I just hope we keep growing and growing. All I want is to put out quality products," she said.
Trever said no matter how big it gets, she plans to keep her business headquartered right here in Michigan. For more information on Maggie May Swimwear visit www.maggiemayswimwear.com.
