Kate Upton Tells Story About Justin Verlander Wanting To Get "Blackout Drunk" After Loss

Just in case you have had a total blackout of the Internet, TV and no access to a newspaper, here's a newsflash: Justin Verlander and supermodel Kate Upton are an item.

Speaking of blackouts, ESPN.com ran a feature on the Chicago Cubs owner Tom Ricketts. While browsing through the story I came across an interesting story told by Upton.

Ricketts was holding court in his Wrigley Field suite for stars like Scottie Pippen and Kate Upton when Upton told a story about what happened after an outing for Verlander, which she described as his career low point. She says he wanted to go out and get "blackout drunk."

"It was my birthday, and he had probably like his worst game ever, and no one had any idea how he'd respond to his worst game ever," Upton says. "He vented to me in the car and was like, 'I am going to get blackout drunk.' So a bunch of us went out and got blackout drunk! I had really good plans to eat popcorn and watch a movie, but he was like, 'I don't want to think about it, at all.' "

Upton is friends with the Ricketts' family.

If I can connect the dots about what Upton is saying, that was the June 11, 2014, game that Verlander pitched against the Chicago White Sox. He went 5. IP while giving up 7 earned runs. The Tigers lost 7-2.

Is this how you want an ace to react to a loss? At least it shows he cares.

Everyone has had a day in which they wish they can forget. What is yours?
