While the Tigers are preparing to start the 2016, Justin Verlander has to worry about replacing his temporary tags on his truck.
A story published on theledger.com says that 24-year-old Tyler Demalignon has been accused of stealing a car at gunpoint, crashing it into a fence, abandoning another truck and stealing the temporary tags off of Justin Verlander's truck.
The theft of a temporary paper tag. On Feb. 20, Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander came out of the Cobb Lakeside 18 movie theater to find the temporary tag on his truck missing. Verlander told detectives he thought the paper tag had blown off, but it was on the back of Adams' Taurus, which was full of stolen goods and found abandoned in a Lakeland neighborhood.
Other crimes Demalignon is accused of include the theft of a 2004 Ford Taurus, which Verlander's tags were found on, breaking into seven other cars, and stealing cash, a GPS, iPhone 6, women's clothing and Disney DVDs. He's currently being held in a Florida jail without bail on 27 charges.
