Sunday night, the Detroit Pistons took on the Boston Celtics, losing 118-111. Celtics PG Rajon Rondo had 11 points and 18 assists. Pistons forward Josh Smith finished the game with 28 points and 11 rebounds. Both are very good lines in a NBA game.
Before the game, Pistons Josh Smith spoke with Baxter Holmes of The Boston Globe, where he revealed he is a huge fan of Rajon Rondo. What's not to like? The guy is a true point guard.
Smith and Rondo were teammates at Oak Hill Academy and it seems that Smith wants to pair up with Rondo once again.
Both took different paths to the NBA; Smith went straight to the NBA from high school and Rondo went to Kentucky, where he played two seasons.
Smith said before the game on Sunday, about the pair potentially playing together again: "It can be far-fetched, but it could be possible too, at the same time," Smith added. "I'm always optimistic. I always think of different scenarios. It could happen, but who knows?"
The only way I see the pair being teammates again is if the Pistons were to deal Smith in the offseason. I don't see any scenario where the Celtics would trade Rondo for Brandon Jennings.
Do you see a scenario where the two could be paired in Detroit?
