It was business as usual for Ravens head coach John Harbaugh as he addressed the media at Lucas Oil Stadium during the NFL combine on Wednesday.
Of course I was only sitting there because I wanted to know what John thought of his brother Jim being the head coach of Michigan and if it's bizarre that he's no longer in the NFL? Harbaugh admitted that while the league probably doesn't miss his brother, he definitely does. "I need my buddy, I'm missing him" Harbaugh said. "Somebody to hang out with and get dinner with, I'm not sure who I'm going to sit with anymore during the workouts."
John, like the rest of the state of Michigan also noticed his brother sitting courtside during Tuesday's Michigan-Michigan State game at Crisler Center. "I saw him last night at the Michigan game sitting right next to coach Beilein there eating a pizza" Harbaugh said. "It was funny how close he was right next to the head basketball coach, like a little foot behind, getting after a pizza. I wonder how coach felt about that?"
John acknowledged that the entire Harbaugh family was excited to see Jim become the next coach of the Wolverines. "Everybody is fired up" said Harbaugh.
While a Harbaugh homecoming that might include their parents moving to Ann Arbor is nice, John knows how tough it will be for Jim to turn around the Maize and Blue. "It's going to be a big challenge for Jim" Harbaugh said. The Big Ten is better than ever, they got after it at Bowl Games. The Big Ten re-established themselves this year, won the National Championship and it's great for the league and it's great for Michigan. Jim Needs to get them back in the hunt and that's what he plans on doing."
