Jim Leyland Energized By Tigers' Future
All the names and strategies for making Tigers baseball a better product in 2011 will be mulled seriously in early October, after the 2010 season has come to a halt and the Tigers brass convenes for organizational meetings in Lakeland, Fla.
But as he sat in the visiting manager's office Sunday morning at Rogers Centre, Jim Leyland could at least envision what might be a dramatic autumn and winter for the Tigers.
"This will probably be the most interesting year for our ballclub since I've been here," he said, speaking of the coming offseason. "I think our club has a chance to get real good, real fast.
