Jeff Riger: The Unhappy People After Saturday's Lions Game!

Believe it or not, there were some unhappy people after the Lions 34-10 handling of the Patriots on Saturday, and of course those people all were Patriot fans, coaches or players.

As I sat in the New England press conference room waiting for Bill Belichick and Tom Brady to address the media, I was expecting your "normal" preseason comments, things like "we have stuff to work on" and "by the time the regular season rolls around we will be ready to play." I even expected both the coach and star QB to say "let's get real, this is preseason, who cares?"

Well, I was wrong. Both Belichick and Brady were upset, so much that I actually believed that this game meant something to them.

Belichick started off his statements making sure the media knew he wasn't happy. "We didn't do anything very well so, didn't throw it, didn't catch it, didn't block, didn't tackle, didn't cover, didn't return, so it's a long list, we didn't do anything very well, didn't coach, we didn't do anything very well."

Brady was a little more optimistic, saying, "you don't want to ride the wave of emotion, oh we're great and we suck and we're great and we suck, we just got to go play better."

I know it is only preseason and that the Lions over the last three years have been 10 and 2 during exhibition games only to 8 and 40 when it really mattered, but this year seems different. Maybe I'm making up stuff, but I think the reaction of some of the Patriots maybe proves it.

What do you think? Can you get excited over the preseason game #3 win? I sure can!

Watch the videos of Belichik and Brady below to hear the two rip on themselves and credit the Lions.
