Jeff Riger: Fairley Talks To Reporters

Tuesday at Lions training camp the team no doubt got a boost seeing their first round pick Nick Fairley on the field. Fairley, who weeks ago had surgery on his foot was in a walking boot after having his cast removed on the practice field earlier in the day. After the workout, Fairley and a slew of reporters walked to the entrance of the facility where the Auburn alum answered questions ranging from how his injury is to how it felt having to sit out the team's first preseason game last Friday night? Fairley also made sure to give credit to his team mates for staying positive during an early setback in his career saying "guys are keeping me going, I'm studying in the film room and those guys are behind me 100 percent, they just tell me to get back as fast as I can."

As for the rest of the team, Jim Schwartz was pleased that players have seemed to have gotten their legs back after the first preseason game and were able to get a lot done at practice. Schwartz also commented on the running game which a lot of people seem to be concerned about saying "I'm certainly not losing sleep over it right now." Offensive coordinator Scott Linehan also made sure to reassure the media that Matthew Stafford is having great practices and that he doesn't see any form of "training camp dead arm" as one reporter alluded to.

Watch the Schwartz and Fairley videos below as the team continues to get ready for their second preseason game against the Browns in Cleveland on Friday August 19th.
