Jeep With Damage To Passenger Side Sought In Bicyclist's Hit-And-Run Death
MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ) - Police in Macomb County have released updated information on a suspect wanted in the hit-and-run death of a man who was riding his bike home from work.
The accident happened just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 at the intersection of Romeo Plank and Hall roads in Macomb Township.
Police say 29-year-old Kevin Clay Fletcher was traveling home from the PF Chang's restaurant at Partridge Creek, where he worked. He was riding his bicycle eastbound on the shoulder of Hall Road, according to police, and was struck while crossing Romeo Plank Road in the crosswalk. Fletcher was killed in the crash.
The vehicle, which was travelling northbound on Romeo Plank Road, continued on after the collision.
"In reviewing evidence at the scene and through interviews with witnesses, it is believed that the striking vehicle is a 2005-07 Jeep, possibly a Grand Cherokee, and it is light khaki metallic in color," police said in a statement.
The vehicle will have damage to the headlight assembly on the right passenger side, according to police. There should also be damage down the passenger side of the vehicle, including to the rear wheel-well, police said.
