Jealousy May Have Led To Fatal Stabbing In Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) - Family members of a 23-year-old Detroit man said jealousy may have led to his stabbing death overnight.
Police were called to the two-story apartment complex on Schoolcraft, not far from the Southfield Freeway, around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, where the man had been stabbed to death.
According to family of Derrick Watkins, he had recently broken up with a girl who lived in the same complex in a different unit. They say the ex-girlfriend found out Watkins was hanging out with another girl in his upstairs apartment and recruited some of her friends to confront him, one of them allegedly stabbing him to death.
That suspect is now in police custody as investigations continue to collect more details from the scene.
