Jared DeVries 'Very Excited' To Be Back With The Lions
After six weeks in limbo, veteran defensive end Jared DeVries said he was "very excited" to come back to work Monday. DeVries, 33, signed a one-year, $1.7 million contract to return to the only team for which he's played in an 11-year career.
"I can tell you I felt like a kindergartner last night -- I was rolling around and wasn't sleeping very well," said DeVries, released in late February with an expectation he might return after testing the free-agent waters. "I'm just very, very, very excited to be back with the fellas. That's one of the things that I missed the most. It's good to see all the familiar faces, and meet some of the new ones. It was a good day."
