Japanese Leaders Attend Detroit Conference
Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm and some other governors will meet with Japanese government and business leaders during an economic development conference in downtown Detroit.
The 42nd Annual Midwest U.S.-Japan Association Conference begins Sunday and runs through Tuesday.
Granholm says in a release that the conference renews Michigan's ties with Japan and strengthens partnerships in job creation, cultural relationships and environmental protection.
The Japanese ambassador to the U.S. and top officials with Michigan-based alternative energy companies are among those expected to attend.
