Jahvid Best 'Never Giving Up Hope' Of Playing Again
Jahvid Best hasn't played since suffering his third major concussion in October 2011.
The 24-year-old Lions running back told the Baltimore Sun he feels good and is symptom-free, but he has not been cleared by neurologists and it's unclear if he ever will. Still, Best continues to work out like he's got a game Sunday.
"It's tough. I don't know what the future is going to hold for me," said Best, who was in Baltimore for Monday's Ed Block Courage Awards Foundation banquet. "It's been about a year and a half now, but I'm still working out like I'm playing next week. … I am never giving up hope. I'm staying ready so if the opportunity does present itself, I'll be ready."
One of 17 players who visited abused, neglected and at-risk kids at St. Vincent's Villa, Best said he was uplifted watching the children chase around NFL stars like Adrian Peterson.
