It's 7-Eleven Day! Free Slurpees For All

DETROIT (WWJ) - Wednesday's date is 7-11, and that means free Slurpees at 7-Eleven stores in Metro Detroit and across the country.

Between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on July 7, customers will be able to get a free 7.11-ounce Slurpee drink as a way to celebrate the company's 85th birthday.

Joe DePinto, 7-Eleven president and CEO, said they expect to give away seven million Slurpees this year, beating last year's offer by two million.

7-Eleven has celebrated its birthday on July 11 for decades, but it wasn't until its 75th birthday in 2002 that its stores began hosting coast-to-coast birthday parties with free Slurpees.
