An Israeli Internet technology company founded in 2007 is looking to establish a presence in Oakland County.
Inphodrive Ltd. has developed a hands-free, voice-activated Internet technology that smartphone users can use while driving with minimal distraction and without compromising road safety.
The technology enables customers to convert idle hours stuck in traffic into productive time responding to emails, making calls, shopping online, and more.
Using their natural, conversational voices, drivers can exchange e-mails and text messages, connect to social networks, browse news portals, search for locations, use on-demand music services and more.
All content is delivered in audio, with no need for screens, leaving the driver's eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.
The Inphodrive offering is based on Synphony, an innovative service delivery platform developedby the company using patented technology and architecture.
On the user side, the Synphony client application is installed on the mobile phone. It accesses the server via 3G mobile Internet connection and enables voice interaction between the driver and the Internet content. In addition, the client integrates with other mobile phone applications, enabling reliable voice dialing, vocal SMS-ing and utilization of the existing GPS software for location search and navigation services.
In the vehicle, the mobile phone pairs with off-the-shelf Bluetooth hands-free devices, to deliver audible content to the driver in a safe and reliable way.
The company is coming to Oakland County to further develop its technology and to seek funding.
The company plans to generate revenue from monthly subscription fees and advertising sales.
