Is Your iPhone Dirtier Than A Toilet Seat?
By Sean Lee, WWJ Health Reporter
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Ever take your smartphone into the bathroom with you? You may want to rethink that after you read this.
A British watchdog group claims most smartphones, keyboards, and tablets are more contaminated with germs than a public toilet seat.
Researchers took swabs from 90 devices and found what they call "hazardous" levels of bacteria, including e. coli.
One iPad had 600 units of Staph bacteria, compared to less than 20 units per swab of an office toilet.
Researchers think the results are a combination of people taking their gadgets into the restroom with them to multitask, or rushing from bathroom breaks back to work without properly washing their hands.
