Inkster Cop Gets Prison Time In Conspiracy
INKSTER (WWJ) - An Inkster police officer who plead guilty to lying in a major drug case will serve prison time. Scott Rechtzigel was sentenced, Wednesday, to 90 days for neglect of duty.
Prosecutors said he and another fellow Inkster police officer, Robert McArthur, conspired to cover up lies during a drug trial in 2005. McArthur will be sentenced in May.
Also charged in the case was former prosecutor Karen Plants, who pleaded guilty to misconduct in office. Retired Judge Mary Waterstone faces trial in May for her role in the conspiracy.
They've said they wanted to protect the role of a paid informant
