Inge Out 4-6 Weeks With Broken Hand
Rangers starter Scott Feldman had a fastball tail off the plate and in on Inge's hands during the third inning. The third baseman tried to spin away from the pitch, but could not avoid the contact, with his pinky finger absorbing the blow.
Inge initially remained in the game but was replaced in the fifth.
In 88 games this season, Inge is batting .263 with six home runs and 40 RBI. The 33-year-old hit 27 homers and drove in 84 runs while holding a .230 average over 161 games in 2009.
To fill the spot, the club Tuesday recalled the contract of righthanded pitcher Casey Fien from Triple A Toledo.
Fien has appeared in 31 games with Toledo, posting a 1-1 record, 2.33 ERA (46.1IP/12ER), four saves and 31 strikeouts.
