Infant Found In Attic Was Stillborn
PORT HOPE (WWJ) - Preliminary autopsy findings have determined that an infant whose body was found in the attic of a home in Michigan's Thumb area was stillborn. The Huron County sheriff's office released no other details.
Police found the infant's body in the attic area of a Port Hope home Sunday after the 13-year-old mother sought treatment at a local hospital.
A 16-year-old boy believed to be the infant's father was charged Tuesday with third-degree criminal sexual conduct. The mother could face charges for putting the remains in the attic.
Police said that infant's parents are related. The exact relationship between the teenagers is not clear, but the Bay City Times said they have the same last name.
A pretrial hearing will be held within two weeks.
