Snow Emergencies Issued As Storm Continues

DETROIT (WWJ) -  There are many troubled travel spots in metro Detroit area.

Several communities have issued a Snow Emergency. Stay tuned to WWJ Newsradio 950 for updated lists on those communities. You can also call your local police department for snow emergency information.

Travelers need to be aware of several road closings in addition to slick and white-out conditions.

Police are advising people to stay inside if they do not have to travel Sunday.

If you must travel, give yourself at least twice the time needed to get to your destination.

This evening it will be cloudy with freezing rain...snow and sleet.

A chance of thunder through 4 am. Light glazing expected. Additional snow and sleet accumulations 4 to 6 inches.

Storm total accumulations 4 to 7 inches. Lows 23 to 27. East winds 5 to 15 mph...turning to northeast. Chance of precipitation 100 percent.
