I-96 Shutdown, I-94 Lanes Closed
Summer's not over yes, and either is the roadwork. In Livonia and Redford Township, we'll once again lose a section of freeway for the weekend. Eastbound I-96 is scheduled to be shut down between I-275 and Telegraph Road beginning at 9 p.m. Friday. The freeway will open before rush hour Monday.
The drive on the east side along I-94 will be no picnic this weekend, either. We are in for weekend tie ups between Harper Woods and Roseville. Both directions of I-94 are scheduled to be reduced to one lane between 8 Mile Rd. and I-69, through Monday morning. To avoid the backups plan to exit at 8 mile on the EB side, 12 Mile from WB - and use Gratiot, Little Mack or Harper. The EB I-696 ramp to EB I-94 is scheduled to be shut down until late October.
