I-94/M-39 Interchange Project Moves Into New Phase
ALLEN PARK (WWJ) - More construction work is coming to a busy freeway interchange Downriver.
MDOT said the ongoing repair project at the I-94/M-39 (Southfield Freeway) interchange in Wayne County will move into a new phase on Wednesday, Sept. 26, when crews continue bridge demolition on the eastbound Van Born Road bridge, which spans over the westbound I-94 ramp to northbound M-39.
As a result, the westbound I-94 ramp to northbound M-39 will be closed from 4 a.m. Wednesday until 11 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30.
During the ramp closure, traffic will be diverted to southbound M-39 and then the first median crossover south of I-94 to access northbound M-39.
This work is part of an overall $13.8 million investment and all work is expected to be completed in November.
