Husband Charged In West Bloomfield Twp. Murder
A man has been charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of his wife inside their West Bloomfield Township home.
Ellery Bennett was arraigned Friday, two days after police say he drove himself to a hospital while bleeding from self-inflicted stab wounds.
Lisa Bennett was stabbed four times in her shoulder, back and neck. Authorities say her body was found Wednesday after Ellery Bennett told hospital staff another victim was at the home about 20 miles northwest of Detroit.
She recently had filed for divorce, and the couple had debts tied to failed business pursuits.
Bennett is being held without bond in the Oakland County jail pending his next court date on Thursday.
As of Friday, he did not have an attorney.
