Husband and Wife Arrested For Robbery
A husband and wife are behind bars in Washtenaw County after allegedly trying to break into a home in the middle of the day.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department says the man was in the kitchen of a home on Lindemann Road near Alber, Tuesday afternoon. According to officers, the homeowners were in the residence at the time. The female homeowner went to check out the noise in the kitchen and saw the male suspect, who apparently tried to attack her with a hammer. However, officers say the woman was not hurt.
As the suspect tried to make a run for it, he was tackled on the deck by the male homeowner - where he remained until deputies arrived. Officers then found and arrested the suspect's wife who was waiting in a car nearby.
Both suspects were taken to the county jail. Charges are pending.
