(CBS DETROIT) —  Police in Huron Township are investigating the report of a home invasion and criminal sexual conduct.

Authorities say it happened on the 36000 block of Violet Street around 3 a.m. Saturday.

The female victim could not provide a description of the suspect, but believes the suspect is known to her, police say.

"We are in the very early stages of this investigation and actively working to gather additional information. We are using every resource available to us," Huron Township Director of Public Safety Everette Robbins said in a release.

There will be extra patrols around the area of the reported crimes.

The Huron Township Police Department is asking residents to lock doors and windows, activate alarm and camera systems and check camera footage for anything suspicious.

Anyone with information should call Wesley Jolly, detective with the Huron Township Police Department, at 734-753-4400.
