Hundreds Expected At Funeral For Michigan State Trooper Killed On Motorcycle Patrol
FENTON (WWJ/AP) - A high school is serving as the site of a funeral for a 38-year-old Michigan State Police trooper who was killed while on motorcycle patrol.
Chad Wolf will be remembered Tuesday at Fenton High School.
Wolf died Friday, hours after he was struck by a car hauling a trailer and dragged for miles along I-75 in northern Oakland County. He had been a trooper since 2008.
Lt. Mike Shaw says police officers from as far as California and Texas plan to attend the funeral. The service will be led by the pastor of Great Lakes Baptist Church in Holly, where Wolf was a youth minister. He was married and had four children.
Wolf was born in Geneseo, Illinois. He attended high school in Annawan, Illinois, and college in Pensacola, Florida.

The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. Friday along US-24 Dixie Highway and northbound I-75 in Springfield Township. According to police, a 72-year-old man was attempting to exit onto I-75 when he made a lane change and struck Wolf, who then became lodged under a trailer. Wolf was dragged for roughly three miles until the man pulled over at a rest stop.
Wolf was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
