X-Rite names SVP of sales and field marketing: Kentwood-based X-Rite Inc. (Nasdaq: XRIT) Wenesday appointed Robert Agnes as senior vice president of sales and field marketing effective Monday, Oct. 11. He will oversee all sales and field marketing activities for the Americas and Europe-Middle-East-Africa regions. He will also have responsibility for the company's global OEM and global digital supply chain organizations, and serve on X-Rite's senior leadership team. Agnes will collaborate with Iris Mangelschots, his predecessor in this position, who was recently appointed as president of X-Rite Asia Pacific. Agnes will be based in Grand Rapids and report directly to Thomas J. Vacchiano, Jr., CEO of X-Rite. Agnes previously served as managing director Asia Pacific for Lectra Systems Ltd. Prior to that, he spent 21 years at Tektronix Inc., where his career progressed from account manager to general management, performing a number of senior sales and marketing roles. In these assignments, Agnes developed extensive global channel management experience in video, telecommunications, and general purpose test and measurement markets. Agnes holds a bachelor of science in engineering from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from George Fox University in Newberg, Ore. EV Pioneer Purcell Named CEO of Protean Holdings: Veteran auto industry senior executive Bob Purcell has been named Chairman and CEO of Troy-based Protean Holdings Corp., a developer of advanced in-wheel electric drive systems. Purcell moves into this role after serving as a board director and strategic advisor to the company. Purcell brings a long track record of electric drive experience to Protean Electric. From 1994 to 2002, he led the GM Advanced Technology Vehicles Group (GM ATV) that launched the GM EV-1. His group also developed and produced the S-10 Electric Truck and the GM Precept concept hybrid vehicle, part of President Clinton's Partnership for a New Generation of Vehicles program. Many of the technologies that were pioneered at GM ATV are still widely used today throughout the industry in electric, hybrid and fuel cell vehicles. Purcell also served as chairman of the GM-Ovonic advanced battery joint venture. As Protean Electric prepares for production, Purcell also announced part of his management team. Craig Knight has been appointed president of Protean Americas and executive vice president of global business development. Charles Reinhart Co. names marketing coordinator: The Ann Arbor-based Charles Reinhart Co. announced that Megan Crosbie has been named marketing coordinator. Crosbie will primarily be responsible for Reinhart's online presence, including its social media strategy, Web site and blog. Megan will also assist with marketing training classes for agents as well as event and activity planning. Crosbie previously worked at the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti Regional Chamber as marketing and membership coordinator, where she also planned and implemented the chamber's social media strategy. She also managed the Web site, e-mail marketing, various print publications as well as other marketing functions. A lifelong resident of the Ann Arbor area, Crosbie is a graduate of Saline High School and Eastern Michigan University, where she majored in marketing.
