MMIC, Mitech Plus get new boss: The Midland-based MidMichigan Innovation Center, a business incubator, and Midland-based Mitech Plus Inc., an organization devoted to connecting students and parents with technical career opportunties, announced a change in leadership Wednesday. Bill Moneypenny, CEO of both the MMIC and Mitech Plus, is leaving the organizations to take a job at the Dow battery venture Dow Kokam. He will be replaced by Midland busienss veteran Joe Asiala. With 30 years of global and local leadership experience from his service with Dow Chemical Co., Asiala will be the interim CEO of Mitech Plus. He was previously chair of the Mitech Plus board. Asiala was also a founding member of the MidMichigan Innovation Center board, is a member of the BlueWater Angels, and serves as a consultant and mentor to entrepreneurs in the region. He also serves on the Energy Engineering Institute Advisory Council and the Engineering Advisory Council for Texas A&M University. Asiala was named interim CEO of Mitech Plus and president of MidMichigan Innovation Center.
ANX Grows Executive Team with New Chief Marketing Officer: Southfield-based ANXeBusiness Corp., a provider of networking and security managed services, today announced that the company has expanded its executive team with the addition of Paul Arceneaux, as Chief Marketing Officer. Arceneaux brings more than 20 years of security, technology product development and marketing leadership to ANX. Based in ANX's Austin, Texas office, Arceneaux will help define product strategy and enhance ANX's go-to-market plans for new technologies and services. Together with his team, Arceneaux will be responsible for leading ANX's development as a top tier provider of managed security, compliance and connectivity solutions. Prior to ANX, Arceneaux served as vice president of business management at TippingPoint where he oversaw product management and drove process for the company's operation. During his tenure, his engineering team developed security products that fueled double digit revenue growth year after year. Additionally, he provided management across all cross functional groups to ensure the company operates more efficiently while reducing costs for product development and manufacturing. Previously, he was vice president engineering and general manager for Pinpoint Technology where he strategically planned all aspects of the company from product and project selection to personnel selection, training and development. Additionally, for more than seven years, Arceneaux served as vice president and general manager for Siemens, Efficient Networks Service Management Business Unit. Through effective marketing, sales and operations management, he quadrupled revenue of the business within two years. Since 1998, ANX has operated one of the largest and most secure business-to-business networks in the world.
Vicki Reaume Named Vice President and Secretary to EMU Board of Regents: Vicki Reaume, who has served as executive director of alumni relations at Eastern Michigan University since 2001, has been appointed to the position of vice president and secretary to the board of regents at EMU. The secretary serves as a liaison between the board and the president and the president's cabinet. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating and facilitating the work of the Eastern Michigan board of regents to help enable it to effectively govern the university. As executive director of alumni relations, Reaume provided leadership and coordination of alumni relations activities while working with the board of regents, the president and other executive leaders. She led an office with more than 10 employees and managed an annual budget of a half million dollars. She served as director of alumni relations at Eastern from 1997-2001, and assistant director from 1995-97. Reaume also worked as an alumni and constituency relations specialist at Monroe County Community College from 1993-95, and as the college's alumni coordinator from 1991-93. She earned a master's in educational leadership in 1996, and a bachelor's in public relations in 1991, both from EMU. The regents hired Reaume after a search to fill the position began in September 2010. She succeeds Jacqueline Kurtz, who has resigned to pursue other interests. Kurtz had served in the position since 2006. Reaume's annual salary will be $126,500.
