House Guest Ordered To Stand Trial In Dismemberments
ALLEN PARK (WWJ) - An Allen Park man accused of murdering and dismembering his ex-girlfriend and her fiancée has been ordered to stand trial on murder charges.
Wayne County Assistant Prosecutor Raj Prasad argued at the close of Roger Bowling's preliminary examination on Wednesday that Bowling implicated himself by cleaning up the murder scene at the Allen Park home where he'd been staying with the couple.
"There was no sign of forced entry and that if it was some other marijuana (related) or robbery type of incident then the scene would not have been cleaned up," Prasad said. "That's what I call the most damning fact of this whole thing ... is that because you had a cleaned up scene that's what points most directly to Mr. Bowling -- because he was the one still living there."
Prasad said a circular saw found with the dismembered legs matched other tools of the same brand found in the home, but defense attorney Mark Brown said there was no evidence linking Bowling to the saw or the killings.
"Mr. Bowling lived in the house. The tools were in the house," Brown said. "That doesn't make him the person who used them."
The bodies of Danielle Greenway and her fiancée Chris Hall were discovered in canal off of the Detroit River in July. A medical examiner determined that the couple was fatally shot before they were beheaded.
Bowling will be arraigned Sept. 5 in Wayne County Circuit Court on murder and other charges.
