Honda To Recall Over 2M Vehicles In US, China
DETROIT (WWJ) - Honda is recalling over 2 million vehicles, including the Accord, CR-V and Element.
WWJ's Autobeat reporter Jeff Gilbert says it's really more of an issue of damaging the transmission than causing an accident.
"It only happens with the Accord, CR-Vs or Elements are shifted rapidly from drive to neutral to reverse as you would when trying to get out of deep snow or mud," said Gilbert.
All of the vehicles included in the recall were sold in the past six years in the U.S. and China. The company says no injuries have been reported.
Honda will begin notifying owners of affected vehicles on August 31. After that date, owners can determine if their vehicle requires repair by visiting www.recalls.honda.com or by calling (800) 999-1009, and selecting option 4.
