Honda Recalling 18,000 Cars To Fix Brakes
DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - Honda is recalling more than 18,000 cars in the U.S. to fix problems with the brakes.
The recall affects more than 13,000 Acura RSX compact cars from 2006, and over 5,000 Honda S2000 sports cars from the 2006 and 2007 model years.
Honda says some power brake booster parts weren't made to specifications. The error could cause a decrease in braking power over time, which could increase the risk of a crash.
The automaker says no crashes or injuries have been reported related to this issue, which was discovered through warranty claim analysis.
Honda is encouraging owners of all affected vehicles to take their cars to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive notification of the recall, which will be mailed out in mid-July. Dealers will replace the brake booster if needed.
