Highland Park Mayor Talking Safety With Gas Station Owners
HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. (WWJ) - Highland Park city leaders will be meeting with gas station owners Monday to talk about safety and other issues, including last week's shooting that left a clerk murdered.
WWJ's City Beat Reporter Vickie Thomas reports that even though two suspects are in custody in the murder of 59-year-old Hassan Hussein, police have stepped up patrols around gas stations in the city. Highland Park Mayor DeAndre Windom will meet today with the owners of the city's eight gas stations.
"I am bringing all the gas station owners up to City Hall to sit down to talk with them about safety and how we can come together to stop incidences like this from happening in our city."
Those two suspects are expected to be arraigned this week.
