High Winds, Icy Roads In Michigan Monday
ANN ARBOR (WWJ/AP) - High winds are possible Monday in Metro Detroit. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory in effect until 10 p.m.
Sustained southwest winds of 25 to 30 mph are likely, with gusts reaching 35 to 50 mph. Across the southern Lower Peninsula, the National Weather Service says wind gusts up to 45 mph are forecast. Gusts up to 50 mph are possible along Lake Michigan. The winds could knock down trees and push snow and ice from rooftops following earlier storms.
AccuWeather Meteorologist John Feerick says the strongest winds will be in the afternoon into the evening, with a snow shower or two possible. The strong wind gusts may present hazardous conditions for motorists during the afternoon commutes and scattered power outages and downed trees are possible.

Early Monday, icy roads were problems in parts of the state.
In the Lower Peninsula, travel conditions in some places were slippery after rainfall froze. Caution was urged Monday, with crashes reported in the Ann Arbor area.
Dozens of school districts canceled classes, in part due to icy roads. In Midland County, crashes were reported Sunday night.
A flood warning is in effect through Wednesday afternoon for the Grand River in Ottawa County's Robinson Township following last week's ice jam-related flooding.

Friday: Cloudy with a 30 percent chance of snow. Hi 36 / Lo 27.
