HGTV's "Scoring The Deal" Looks To Hit Home Run With New Audience
WEST BLOOMFIELD (WWJ ) - HGTV is hoping a metro Detroit man will hit a home run with a new prime-time show spotlighting national sports stars buying dream homes
Jason Abrams isn't your typical real estate agent and HGTV is hoping the West Bloomfield native will capture a whole new audience with his new show "Scoring the Deal."
WWJ's Kathryn Larson reports that along the way you'll appreciate how tough it can be to find sports stars a home.
"Some of the things you or I might take for granted - they really can't; like they are much larger than you or I ... just as people in stature" said Abrams.
"Imagine if you only fit into half of the showers? All of the sudden you completely exclude a home if the vanities are not a certain height."
HGTV has no trouble attracting the female viewers, but it's the male 18-35 demographic that they are looking to capture.
"So often ... what you find is the husband or boyfriend ... in one room watching football and you have the lady in the other room watching HGTV," Abrams said.
Abrams says the hope is that with this show the men and women will sit down together and watch "Scoring the Deal."
"Scoring the Deal" debuts at 11 p.m. January 8 on HGTV.
