Hey Santa, Want A Michigan Plate For That Sleigh?
DETROIT (WWJ) - Although not required by law to have a license plate on his sleigh, Santa Claus has one waiting for him at the Michigan Secretary of State's Office, should he choose to accept it.
Secretary of State Ruth Johnson today announced "BLVINME" as the winning entry in the "A Plate for Santa" contest. It was chosen out of more than 500 personalized plate ideas submitted by residents.

Lorie Darling, of Eaton Rapids, submitted the winning entry via Facebook and will receive a commemorative license plate plaque in recognition. The winning configuration, which had to be seven characters or less, was determined after multiple rounds of voting by Secretary of State staff.
When reached for comment earlier this month, Claus had said he would like a personalized plate for Christmas.
