Henry Ford Health System Goes Live With EHR
Detroit-based Henry Ford Health System has announced a system-wide go-live and deployment of a new electronic health record system, called Care Plus Next Generation.
The software comes from Reliance Software Systems Inc., which does business as RelWare, of Farmington HIlls. RelWare's offering, known as EXR, has been federally certified as an electronic health record system for both inpatients and ambulatory care. The functionality of EXR is offered by RelWare in scalable configurations for all hospitals, health systems, clinics, large practices and health information exchanges.

At Henry Ford, CPNG is being deployed to more than 12,000 users and more than 1,200 physicians in six hospitals and more than 120 clinics. It interfaces with more than 150 systems to build upon Henry Ford's existing lifetime clinical data repository, started almost 20 years ago.
RelWare's immediate focus is to provide EXR in-house and in SaaS / Cloud configurations, particularly to critical access and small hospitals.
"It scales up, it scales down -- smaller hospitals need their Meaningful Use reimbursements, and we intend to deliver that," Brown said.
