Henry Ford Community College Offers Tuition Amnesty
DEARBORN (WWJ) - Henry Ford Community College is offering tuition amnesty for former students.
The program, which starts Monday, July 15, allows students who dropped out of Henry Ford the chance to pay half of what they owe and return to school. The college is accepting payments in person, via mail and online. The one-time program runs through August 14.
Dr. Stanley Jensen, president of HFCC, said that "in this difficult economy, many students ended up owing the College money when their life situation changed and they were unable to complete their studies or pay the amount owed. With the amnesty, students will be able to return to school, which will generate revenue for HFCC, and have the opportunity to complete their degree to obtain a well paying job. These students become taxpayers with the job skills needed in region. The student, the community, and the College all benefit with this program."
All students participating in this program must attend a financial literacy/education workshop that is offered to all students.
