Heavy Snow Causing Several Accidents
DETROIT (WWJ) A Winter Weather Advisory has been posted for Metro Detroit, with up to 5 inches of snowfall expected. And, the sudden and heavy snowfall is causing multiple traffic accidents on Southeast Michigan freeways.
The following incidents were reported after 3 p.m. Saturday:
- I-275 southbound before 8 Mile Rd.; there is an accident. Two left lanes blocked.
- I-75 southbound at Telegraph; there is an accident on both shoulders.
- I-696 eastbound at Hoover Rd.; disabled vehicle and the center lane is blocked.
- I-75 northbound at Outer Dr. (Lincoln Park); accident. Right lane blocked. Multiple vehicles involved. Expect delays.
- Southfield Freeway (M-39) southbound at McNichols Rd.; disabled vehicle. Delays. Several vehicles reported stuck in the snow.
- I-75 southbound at Clark St; accident reported.
- I-75 northbound at the Davison; accident on the right shoulder.
