Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows - Part 2: Wondrous Wizardry

NOVI (WWJ) - The magic of Harry Potter is back on the big screen! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 is the final adventure in the Harry Potter film series. It's also the first Harry Potter film to be released in both 3D and 2D.

While waiting to attend a preview screening at the Emagine Theatre in Novi, fans arrived more than 4 ½ hours early to secure their places in line and be among the first to see the fight-to-the-finish between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort.

Chuck Felker of New Baltimore and Carl Wheeler of Clinton Township were the first two Harry Potter fans in line. How do they feel about the Harry Potter film series coming to an end?

"Happy and sad," Wheeler told WWJ Newsradio 950. "I'm gonna miss it, but I wanna see how it ends. Even though I know how it ends from the books, though, I'm excited."

Added Felker, "Yep, I read all the books, too. My sons and I actually all read 'em together." How does he feel about the Harry Potter film series coming to an end? After a long sigh, Felker said, "I've enjoyed it the whole time. I like comparing the two, so I'm a little bit sad to see 'em coming to the end, but at the same time, I'm excited about watching the movie … we've been looking forward to it for awhile."

What is Felker most excited about seeing onscreen? "The final battle at the end between Harry and Voldemort," Felker said. As for Wheeler, he echoed Felker's statement, adding that "it should be epic." Spoken like true Harry Potter fans!

What do the two Potter fans like most about the Harry Potter franchise? "I would have to say that the good vs. evil; the good over evil," Felker replied. "That whole, if you're a good person inside, no matter what trials you go through, you know you can still end up on top and keep your family and friends close."

Friends Lauren Gaunt and Stephanie Grandy, both of Pleasant Ridge, came dressed as their favorite Harry Potter characters: Gaunt as Lord Voldemort and Grandy as a Golden Snitch. They both waited in 90+ temperatures while the long line in front of them snaked inside the theater. What makes Harry Potter worth the wait in their eyesight? "The whole story; the whole story's worth it," Grandy said. "The adventure, and I think that this last story; I mean this last movie is everything coming together. So, it's just really exciting."

As for Gaunt, "I've been reading Harry Potter since I was like 7," she said. "I've read every book like 10 times, listened to all the audio tapes and it's just like, I don't know, it's the end and it's really sad and it's exciting at the same time."

Does Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 live up to the hype? Indeed, it does. And it was definitely worth the wait.
