Halloween Weather Outlook
DETROIT (WWJ) - Will you need to create a costume that includes an umbrella for Halloween? The spooky extended weekend weather outlook says it may be a good idea to have one handy.
Whatever the weather be glad you are not treat or treating on the East Coast where you'd need snow gear - and quite possibly a generator as 1.7 million lose power in that area.
In the Detroit metro area WWJ-TV Chief Meteorologist Jim Madaus says we'll fare much better:
"I'm not expecting snow at all," said Madaus. "I'm expecting temperatures near 50 degrees both Saturday and Sunday."
It wouldn't be unheard of for metro Detroit to have a snowfall this early, Madaus added.
"We've had snow as early as October 6, and the earliest real snowstorm we've had was Dec. 1, 1974, when we got 19.2 inches," Madaus said.
Here's the weather forecast through Tuesday.
Sunday - Partly sunny during the morning. Cloudy during the afternoon. Highs 52 to 56. Light and variable winds...becoming south 5 to 15 mph.
Sunday Night - Mostly cloudy. Rain showers likely overnight. Lows 39 to 43. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 60 percent.
