Guilty Plea In 18-Year-Old Murder Case
DETROIT (WWJ) - A man has pleaded guilty in the fatal shooting of an 8-year-old Grand Rapids girl in 1993.
Robert "Bobby'' Brown pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of Lativia Johnson.
The plea allows the 38-year-old to avoid a potential mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole, but he'll be required to testify against co-defendant Robert Gaines.
Gaines and Brown are accused of firing a gun into the home, where a bullet struck Lativia in the head as she went to get a cup of milk.
