Guide To Comerica Park: Home Of The Tigers

Comerica Park was built in 2000 to replace the beloved and historic Tigers Stadium. A state of the art venue, Comerica is home to the Detroit Tigers and countless mega concert performances including Eminem, The Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen. With the legacy of Tigers baseball, world class concessions and extra features such as fountain water shows and fireworks displays, Comerica is something to be experienced. Opening Day is one of the most anticipated days in Detroit.

Attractions

Comerica Carousel
An ornate carousel, featuring 30 hand-painted tigers and two chariots, is located at the base of the food court behind the first base area. The ride is fully wheelchair-accessible.

Fly Ball Ferris Wheel
Located on the third base side of the Park in the Brushfire Grill, this 50-foot Ferris wheel features cars shaped like baseballs that can seat up to five passengers and is wheelchair accessible.

Sculptures
The Tigers celebrate six of their all-time great players with a series of unique statues located along the left centerfield wall. The statues are cast in stainless steel and capture the essence of some of the greatest Tigers in action--Ty Cobb, Charlie Gehringer, Hank Greenberg, Willie Horton, Al Kaline and Hal Newhouser. Each is perched atop a granite pedestal and reaches about 13 feet in height.

Liquid Fireworks
The centerfield wall features a fountain that produces a stunning "liquid fireworks" display. It is synchronized to music and changing lights and is used to celebrate home runs and other in-game moments.

Walk of Fame
All through the main concourse, guests can enjoy the Tigers "Walk of Fame," a historical display that envelops the circumference of the lower level. Historical elements celebrating the Tigers rich history from the 1800s to the present take guests on a trip through time, punctuated by six large "decade bats" that denote each era in Tigers baseball with artifacts, photos and display cases.

Tigers Retail

New for the 2011 season, the 6,000 square foot 'The D Shop' will feature new apparel for men, women, and children, as well as unique items for your home, wardrobe and lifestyle. 'The D Shop' is conveniently located in the heart of Detroit's sports and entertainment district on the corner of Witherell Street and Montcalm Avenue. 

There are five Tigers merchandise stores in Comerica Park. Official Tigers souvenirs and media guides are available during all home games and the main retail store on Witherell near Adams is open on NON-GAME DAYS Monday - Friday 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Food & Drink

Big Cat Food Court
The Big Cat Food Court is near the main entrance and offers a wide variety of food choices including fresh squeezed lemonade, elephant ears, ice cream, French fries, handmade pretzels, deli sandwiches, gyros, frozen daiquiris and coney and Chicago style hot dogs.

Tiger Den Lounge
Located off Montcalm Street, this is a private area reserved for members of the Tiger Club and Tiger Den premium seating level. It features a private bar and private dining. The Den Lounge is accessible off the main concourse near section 131. The Lounge is also available for rental or private parties.

Beer Hall
This modern tavern offers a wide selection of local and international beers, a tavern-style menu, an impressive 70 foot bar and dozens of heavy wooden picnic tables.

Brushfire Grill
This open air picnic area offers fresh grilled ballpark favorites. The Brushfire Grill also features a soothing fountain with a giant floating baseball upon cascades of clear blue water.

Tiger Club
Membership only club accessed by the Tiger Club entrance at the corner of Witherell and Elizabeth Streets. The Club is open on all game days serving a full buffet with a view of the playing field. The Club is also available for rentals and private parties.

Mike's Hard Lemonade Upper Deck Lounge
The Upper Deck Lounge features a bar, separate seating area and rest room facilities. The Upper Deck Lounge is located at section 330 on the upper concourse. It is air conditioned, heated and open to the public.

Champions Club
The Champions Club is located on the 100 suite level along the third base side of the park. Champions Club tickets are sold as season tickets and are required for entry into the club. Champions Club access passes are sold on a per game basis (a valid game ticket is needed for entry into Comerica Park). Please contact 313-471-2222 for more information. Spectator Rules

Cameras / Video
Guests are welcome to bring still and video cameras into the park and may take pictures from their seats during the game. Guests are requested to not stand in aisles or obstruct others from viewing the game while taking pictures. Tripods, unipods, and monopods are not permitted in the park.

Banners / Signs
Banners may not obstruct the view of guests. Banners must be baseball related and may not contain objectionable subject matter or be commercial in nature. Banners may not be attached to the building or hung over railings. The Detroit Tigers reserve the right to remove any banner at any time.

• Banners and signs must (a) utilize only cloth, paper or other light, flexible materials, rather than be comprised of or supported by wood, metal or other hard materials that could be dangerous in a crowded public setting, (b) not be affixed to or draped over any part of the ballpark structure.
• Banners and signs may be displayed only (a) in areas where they do not obscure advertising, ballpark signage or impede the operation of Comerica Park, (b) so as not to unduly obstruct any person's view of the playing field or interfere with player or umpire sight lines. Only one sign or banner may be displayed at any one location.
• Banners may only be shown (a) prior to the start of the game, (b) between innings, and (c) after the conclusion of the game.
• Banners and signs may not bear a message that (a) is slanderous, (b) is obscene, vulgar or indecent and inappropriate for viewing by children, (c) contains "fighting words" likely to provoke a breach of the peace (d) contains commercial advertising or commercial product or service identification or (e) is political in nature.

Disabled Services: Drop off areas are located at Gate B on the corner of Adams and Witherall as well as Gate D, on Montcalm between Brush Street and Woodward. Please allow adequate time to drop off guests, as game time approaches these streets may become inaccessible.

Coming and Going

The Detroit People Mover: For guests taking the Detroit People Mover, Comerica Park stops include Broadway for easy access to Gate C on the corner of Brush and Adams Streets, or the Grand Circus Park stop for easy access to Gate B on the corner of Adams And Witherell streets. Cost for the People Mover is fifty cents per ride. Hours of Operation: Mon.-Thurs. 6:30am- Midnight, Friday 6:30am-2:00am, Saturday: 9:00am- 2:00am, and Sunday: 12:00pm-12:00am.
