Green Cleaning Products Firm Opening New Plant

EcoStore USA, a Michigan-based manufacturer of eco-friendly plant- and mineral-based household cleaning, personal and baby care products, Wednesday announced a July 29, 2010 grand opening of a new 37,000 square foot manufacturing plant in Auburn Hills.

The grand opening means adding 35 Michigan jobs to the marketplace, as well as increased production of life-enhancing EcoStore USA products. As it expands its operations over the next five years, EcoStore USA said it plans to add at least 50 additional employees.

The grand opening announcement comes on the heels of the first anniversary of EcoStore USA's exclusive retail partnership with Grand Rapids-based Meijer Inc., which currently sells five of its household cleaning products and has recently added five other baby care products.

Ratings of the products can be seen at www.cosmeticdatabase.com.

"We're proud to announce the opening of our new facility, and optimistic about what it means for both Michigan residents and the green economy," said lifelong Michigan resident Lyne Appel Downing, vice president of operations for EcoStore. "Bringing competitively priced products that truly work and are safer alternatives for our families and the planet has always been our mission."

The July 29 opening is all part of an aggressive investment strategy in both people and the planet. More than $2.5 million from investors have been poured into the new Auburn Hills plant in recent months. Last December, EcoStore USA purchased GreenBlendz, a manufacturing company, which has been completely renovated to become the new location of EcoStore's manufacturing operations.

The timing of the new plant opening couldn't be better. New federal legislation, due to become law in September, will require transparency in labeling that reveals the actual exposure risks to chemicals in products we think are safe, but which may, in fact, contain cancer-causing agents. (Track the new legislation at www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s111-1697 .)

The President's Cancer Panel has also added some stern warnings on the estimated 88,000 chemicals currently on the marketplace, stating confidently that the "true burden of environmentally induced cancer has been grossly underestimated."

EcoStore USA's products are 100 percent plant-based, and unlike many "pseudo" green products offer "full ingredient disclosure" under the precautionary principle that if there is one ingredient that does not meet the company's standards, they look elsewhere for ingredients which are both effective and transparent.
