Granholm Joins Dow Board Of Directors

MIDLAND (AP) - Dow Chemical Co. says former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm is joining its board of directors

The Midland-based company said in a Thursday release that the Democrat has a "demonstrated track record'' of cultivating public- and private-sector collaborations that have laid the groundwork for sustainable growth for 21st century manufacturing.

The former governor also has joined Pew Charitable Trusts as a senior adviser to promote its efforts to promote clean energy policies and is a regular contributor to NBC's "Meet the Press.''

She and her husband, Dan Mulhern, are co-authoring a book about governing Michigan. They also have a two-year academic appointment at the University of California-Berkeley, where Granholm got her bachelor's degree.

Granholm's election to the Dow board is effective immediately.
