Gov. Snyder To Hold Online Town Hall Meeting

LANSING (WWJ) - One day following his State of the State address, Gov. Rick Snyder will open up the virtual floor to citizen questions about what's going on inside government.

Consider this a "Town Hall" meeting, except it's on the Internet. Governor Rick Snyder will hold the online meeting Thursday at 6 p.m., taking questions submitted via Facebook and Twitter.

The meeting will stream live at www.facebook.com/rickformichigan.

Spokesperson Sarah Wurfel told WWJ Newsradio 950's Tim Kiska this online Town Hall meeting is entirely within the governor's wheelhouse.

"The governor, as he calls himself, 'one tough nerd,' and so loves to be able to harness all the new technology of being able to connect with people in all the different ways that are possible," Wurfel said.

There are several ways to participate: Submit questions in advance at www.michigan.gov/townhall, post them on the governor's Facebook wall or send a message on Twitter to @OneToughNerd using the hashtag #AskGovSnyder. You can also submit questions using Facebook and Twitter once the meeting has started on Thursday.
