Got A Product To Pitch? Consider Selling On Amazon
DETROIT (WWJ) - If you're an entrepreneur with a small product and big dreams, Amazon may be the way to go.
Last year, more than one billion units worldwide were ordered via the Amazon website from sellers with businesses of all sizes, according to company spokesperson Erik Fairleigh.
Fairleigh told WWJ Newsradio 950's Chrystal Knight that selling online is easy.
"Amazon has a self-service model. So sellers could go to our Amazon services-dot-com page, they could register and sign up to be a seller; and within 30 minutes they could have their items listed next to Amazon's hundreds of millions of items for our hundreds of millions of customers to see."
Fairleigh says that because they have so many different categories, there is almost no limit on what you can sell.
He offered the following tips to potential sellers:
"Have lots of detailed information; have great pictures of your products; have really rich descriptions of, you know, what you're offering." Fairleigh said. "So, when customers are searching for items — and whether or not it might be a doll, or whether it might be a flashlight — there's easy ways for customers to get to your items quickly."
