Gorcyca Refuses To Remove Herself From Contentious Child Custody Case
PONTIAC (CBS DETROIT) - An Oakland Circuit judge has refused to disqualify herself from handling a contentious child custody case.
Circuit Court Judge Lisa Gorcyca issued a written ruling denying the request from Maya Tsimhoni who claimed the judge showed a clear bias in the case.
Maya Tsimhoni had asked the circuit court judge to step away from the case claiming Gorcyca has been biased in favor of the kids' father, Omer Shimoni.
The children, who are 14, 11 and 9, have been living with their father after spending time in Children's Village detention center and then at a summer camp.

Tsimhoni can appeal the ruling which stated that the mother failed to show examples. The ruling also stated that the mother's claims of extra judicial contact prior to trial by the judge were based on hearsay and that the judge's comments comparing the children to Charles Manson's cult were taken out of context.
A full custody hearing will take place later this week.
