Good Deal Leads To "Gas Rage" In Lake Orion
LAKE ORION (WWJ) - A price war between filling stations turned into war between customers at a Lake Orion gas station.
A line formed, Thursday, at the Admiral station on M-24 near Clarkston, offering a bargain price of $3.41-per-gallon.
One woman told WWJ Newsradio 950 that another customer misunderstood a move she made while waiting for her turn at the pump. "The line was going out into the road on M-24 and I thought I did not want to get hit ... so I just wanted to pull up and get out of traffic so that my daughter was safe," said the woman, who didn't want to give her name.
"I was trying to get off the road and make a second line, and this man who was blocking everybody was very irate and got out of his truck and got in my face because he was unhappy with what I did," she said.
"He starts pounding on my window and calling me and my daughter names," the woman said. "When gas is cheap, be careful," she added.
A spokesperson for Admiral said the prices are low due to a price war between neighboring gas stations.
