GLITR Breakfast Talks Tech Toys For Holiday 2011
SOUTHFIELD -- Can't figure out what to give the high-tech lover on your holiday gift list? No worries. As usual, GLITR has you covered.
Just come to Lawrence Technological University Thursday, Nov. 17 for "Battle of the Gadgets." Your Great Lakes Innovation and Technology Report will have the latest and greatest in smartphones, tablets, Internet radios and assorted other cool tech toys for your inspection. Heck, we've even got a robotic helicopter with a TV camera you can steer with your iPhone or iPad.
The event begins with networking at 7:30 a.m. and the program runs from 8 a.m. to shortly after 9 a.m.
Committed to appear at the event are Verizon Wireless and AT&T Wireless, showing off their latest phones and tablets.
Then there's Ferndale-based Livio Radio, manufacturer of the coolest Internet radios on the planet. Yes, they can get you hooked up to the 40,000-plus streams of music and talk on the Web -- without a computer. Their Internet radios go on your tabletop -- and their most recent one, called The Kit, goes in your car. It just won a top award from the International Consumer Electronics Show.
And we're also expecting the QR.drone "quadcopter" from Parrot to make an appearance. This helicopter boasts a video camera and a game you can play with other pilots, and is controlled by the motions of your iPhone or iPad. It's a seriously cool tech toy.
The event is free; coffee, bagels and sweet rolls on us.
