Girl Robbed Outside Macomb Mall
ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - Good samaritans helped Roseville police catch a suspected robber who stole a cell phone from an 11-year old girl in broad daylight outside the Macomb Mall.
Police say Aaron Purifoy was arraigned Tuesday with one count of unarmed robbery. He's in the Macomb County Jail.
The girl and her mother were walking to their car in the mall's east lot Monday afternoon when Purifoy allegedly came up from behind and grabbed the iPhone. The girl was not hurt.
Purifoy jumped into a car with two other people inside and took off. But police say witnesses followed the getaway car and called police.
Officers stopped the suspect's vehicle on 13 Mile near Little Mack and arrested Purifoy. The other two people in the car were questioned and released.
If convicted, Purifoy faces up to 15 years in prison.
